Part of the wine matured in 20,000-liter oak casks, so it's not all barrique. This is the first time they used the vats, and based on the results, Sisseck thinks in the future Pingus will be around 50% in oak vats. The Pingus vines were planted in 1929 in two different sectors of the village of La Horra, Barroso and San Cristobal and contain some 2% other varieties. The vineyards are certified organic and biodynamic and are manicured like few vineyards in Spain. The wine is subtle and harmonious, elegant and insinuating, with all the components in very good balance. This is precise and pure; Sisseck is thorough and meticulous, and the wine shows that precision. This follows the line of the 2016, showing very well even if it was bottled only one month before I tasted it. 9,300 bottles were filled in August 2020.(The Wine Advocate, Jul 01, 2021)

I have watched the evolution of this wine with a close eye and am impressed by how its real quality is diametrically opposed to the poor expectations of this difficult vintage. The nose is redolent of bright fruit and blackberry. Spice, tar and leather appear subtly at the back. The wine took on considerable weight each year I came back to taste it and this vintage was bottled earlier than average, precisely to give it more time to unwind and relax in the small confines of the bottle. This is a solid effort for sure and the wine is a stunning example of what it takes to make great wine, even when weather conditions are not in your favor.(The Wine Advocate, Apr 28, 2017) ¸µÁÄ¥¹¡¼¥Ñ¡¼¥¿¥¹¥«¥ó ¥µ¥Ã¥·¥«¥¤¥¢ Sassicaia ¸µÁÄ¥¹¡¼¥Ñ¡¼¥¿¥¹¥«¥ó¤È¤·¤Æ̾¹â¤¤¥µ¥Ã¥·¥«¥¤¥¢¡£ ºÇ½é¤Ï¼«²ÈÍѥ磻¥ó¤È¤·¤Æ¤¤é¤ì¤Æ¤¤¤Þ¤·¤¿¤¬¡¢Å·ºÍ¾ú¤²È¥¸¥ã¥³¥â¡¦¥¿¥¥¹¤Î¼ê¤Ë¤è¤ê¡¢¥È¥¹¥«¡¼¥Ê¤òÂåɽ¤¹¤ë¥ï¥¤¥ó¤Ø¤ÈÀ¸¤Þ¤ìÊѤï¤ê¤Þ¤·¤¿¡£ ÅÚ¾í¤Ë¤ÏÀФ¬Â¿¤¯¡¢¤µ¤é¤Ë¡¢º½¤äÇ´ÅÚ¡¢Àг¥¼Á¤¬Æþ¤êÁȤó¤Ç¤¤¤Þ¤¹¡£ ¥ß¥Í¥é¥ëʬ¤âËÉ٤ǡ¢¥«¥Ù¥ë¥Í¡¦¥½¡¼¥ô¥£¥Ë¥è¥ó¤ÎºÏÇݤ˺ÇŬ¤Ç¤¹¡£ ¥µ¥Ã¥·¥«¥¤¥¢ °ìÍ÷¤Ø

This is a vintage of enormous richness and density, and everything about the wine is taken up a notch or two (including the bottle glass weight and the 15% alcohol content). But Axel Heinz and his team are well prepared for the hot vintages like 2020, and changes to farming and canopy management ensure even ripening. This wine is always hard to analyze in its youth. Production of 2013 and 2014 was skipped, and the next vintage we shall see (very soon) is 2015, which is also reviewed in this report. This vintage produced large berry sizes for Sangiovese - something Bibi Graetz is always happy to see because it is an indicator of elegance and finesse within the context of the house style. If you consider this wine, his observation makes perfect sense. This warm vintage is powerful and rich in its natural state, so any additional berry density might easily lead to overextraction and heaviness. However, the mouthfeel is objectively thinner and more compact in this vintage. Colore represents a blend of Sangiovese, Canaiolo and Colorino in equal parts. The bouquet is redolent of wild berry, dried cherry and toasted spice. This vintage offers a very attractive mineral note as well. Fruit is selected from three of Bibi Graetz's favorite vineyards with ancient vines: Lamole (in Chianti Classico), Vincigliata and Siena. Full-bodied, with supersilky tannins and a caressing texture. Some bright acidity with the fruit on the finish. Very, very pretty. Dense and balanced. Only improving in the bottle. Excellent second wine. -- '88/'98 Bordeaux blind retrospective (2008). Drink now.(Wine Spectator, June 30, 2009)
